The founder of Dosa Hut, Mr. Shashank Rao was so smitten by the Dosa that he has in a way dedicated his entire career to the same.
A businessman from Mumbai, Shashank always had a strong desire to enter the food business. The South Indian variety of food appealed to him as a businessman as well as a passionate foodie. It is from here that Dosa Hut gradually began to take shape.
Shashank went to Bangalore to prepare the foundation for his dream venture. He worked in outlets specializing in Bangalorean style of dosas and other exotic south Indian cuisines. He gained vital and crucial knowledge of the ingredients, recipes that are essential in preparing the perfect cuisine. The whole experience of Bangalore provided that much needed final impetus that Shashank needed.
In 2001 Shashank opened the first Dosa Hut outlet in Pune. It became an instant success and gained popularity all across Pune. The reason was simple. People got authentic and hygienic south Indian food at a very affordable price. It was and still is the one and only of its kind of outlet selling Bangalorean style South Indian cuisine in Pune.
Office goers in Pune found Dosa Hut irresistible because of the choice of food it offered in such short time duration combined with the affordability factor. Also they were sure that they were not compromising on their health in the bargain.
All in all after six long fruitful years Dosa hut is now on the verge of opening up and spreading the goodness and its unique flavour across other cities beginning with Mumbai.
